Nuzhat Kidvai
Nuzhat has been a teacher for
many years, having taught at College and School
Levels. Ever since she was introduced to computers
- way back in the late 70s - she has been fascinated
at the various ways in which they can support
and enhance education. Her company, Solutions
Unlimited, has been the leading education technology
consultancy for almost 15 years. She is now acting
as an advisor to the C3 Project in Beaconhouse
Schools. Not only did Nuzhat sail for many years,
on merchant ships, with her husband, but she also
qualified for a maritime position and was Third
Officer of a Singaporean ship.
Zaheer Kidvai
Although not strictly a 'techie',
Zaheer has been involved with information and
education technologies since the late 70s, when
Apple launched the first personal computer and
triggered off the current revolution. His great
love, to this day, remains Acorn's BBC machine,
which he thinks has never been really replaced
in its entirety. He visited the UK as part of
a British Council initiative to interact with
organizations involved in the use of computers
in Special Education and has, through companies
he set up and managed, helped the British Council
mount three excellent Exhibitions on the uses
of Technology in Education.
A popular speaker at many IT
and Education forums and events, he headed, until
recently, the Department of New Media and of the
Centre for New Media & Educational Resources (departments
that he conceived and set up) at Hamdard University.
His 15-year old company, Solutions
Unlimited, now run by his wife, specializes in
introducing and supporting the use of Computers
across the curiculum in schools.
Zaheer is, currently, the CEO
of BITS (Beyond
Information Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd.),
a newly formed organization in partnership with
the Beaconhouse Group. BITS will focus on e-learning
and content development, as well as on developing
strategies and applications for taking businesses
online in the New Economy.
